Intercontinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort- Our Stay
On Mehul’s Birthday, we decided to visit Mahabalipuram, We wanted a good beach to chill by and Intercontinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort was the best and most luxurious choice going by the reviews.
Intercontinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort is located on the ECR road, which is around 20 mins away from Mahabalipuram and an hour away from Chennai.
The resort in itself is beautiful and is a stone throw away from the beach. Not just the private Beach area makes the resort great for a relaxing weekend, but the resort has an Ayurvedic spa center, tennis court, gym, outdoor pool and a big lotus pond in the center with palm trees.
The resort has two restaurants and two bars.
The melting pot is where we had our breakfast, which was quite a spread and yum. The chef paid personal attention to us, made an eggless waffle for us and addressed us by our name. The restaurant has a very good view of the pond if you chose to sit outside.
Tao of Peng is a Chinese restaurant, only open for dinner.
There is a shack bar by the beach named “Kokommo” which I believe is the best part of the resort. Where you can enjoy a drink and some good finger food in the evening while enjoying the breeze and waves sound.
Now coming to the room and the room service. The room was huge and divided into three parts by big yellow curtains. Really loved their walk-in wardrobe with huge mirror. The Bathtub placement was really unique. The best thing was their room service, we ordered a lot in the room. Food was more than awesome and they even gave us proper North-Indian food even after mid-night (Do try their Dal Makhani). The service was prompt and hassle-free.
So if you’re looking for a relaxing weekend getaway from Bangalore or Chennai, do stay in Intercontinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort.
Cost For a Classic Room is approx Rs 8000/night.
Mahabalipuram is the best place to visit in Chennai. In ECR, Mahabalipuram the beach site views are always awesome.
